Pregnyl 5000 IU Injection is a natural protein hormone. The substance Choriongonadtropin is a white powdery freeze-dried substance which is often used as a compress. Within each package an additional ampule is provided, with injection solution containing Isotonic Sodium Chloride.
Pregnyl 5000 IU may be used to stimulate ovulation and treat infertility in women. It may also increase the sperm count in men. HCG is also used in young men when their testicles have not properly descended.

 

What Is Pregnyl?

Pregnyl (chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone used to cause ovulation and to treat infertility in women, and to increase sperm count in men. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is also used in young boys when their testicles have not dropped down into the scrotum normally. This can be caused by a pituitary gland disorder.

What Are Side Effects of Pregnyl?

Common side effects of Pregnyl include:
  • headache,
  • restlessness,
  • tiredness,
  • irritability,
  • swelling or water weight gain,
  • depression,
  • breast tenderness or swelling, or
  • injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or irritation).

Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;
  • Serious heart symptoms such as fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, lightheartedness, or passing out;
  • Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.
